Following updates on the latest position in the UK regarding Coronavirus cases, we feel it is helpful to share more information on actions we are taking, and to share some further information with our students.
As an educational setting we have received some guidance from Public Health, and we are also continuing to monitor the latest position. I can confirm at this time that we have had no confirmed cases, and we have no foreign trips planned to any areas which have been identified as an at risk area. We are following all of the advice we have received.
We have shared a poster of guidance from Public Health England regarding strategies to prevent any possible spread of the virus on our student intranet and also in a poster form around the college campuses.
We have stepped up our cleaning of items which are touched frequently to help mitigate any spreading of this or any other viruses.
We realise that some of you have returned from holidays abroad over half term. If you have returned from a country outside of the UK we ask you to check the Public Health England advice available at this link www.gov.uk/coronavirus
In addition to the Government advice, we are asking if you have returned in the last 14 days from any of the known affected areas, the most up to date list of countries (including northern Italy) can be found via the www.gov.uk/guidance/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-information-for-the-public to report to Student Services team on 01473 382738
If it is established that you do require a period of isolation which can happen,, whether you display any symptoms or not, we can discuss arrangements to provide you with college work to do.
The College remains open and there is no reason why other students cannot continue to attend as normal.
We would appreciate any support you can give with continuing to raise awareness of good practice around basic hygiene practices such as regularly washing hands, and always sneezing into a tissue, to stem the spread of viruses.
We will issue further advice and guidance as it becomes available but if you have any specific queries please contact Student Services on 01473 382738, or speak to your teachers or progress tutor.
